CASE Fellow

Carlos has spent his career advocating for college access and educational equity. He grew up in the rural American South and was the first in his family to graduate from college after graduating with a B.A. in History from Rice University. Professionally, Carlos began his career as a high school math teacher in Memphis, TN through Teach for America before transitioning to work in a college access nonprofit in Houston helping first-generation, low-income students matriculate to the nation’s top universities.

This summer, Carlos interned at McKinsey & Company in Houston and hopes to continue exploring how public and private entities can partner to uplift rural and low-income communities through employment and financial equity and through reimagining learning and school systems. Carlos is often found watching movies, playing board games, or playing instruments.
