Vamsi is an MBA candidate at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a CASE i3 Impact Investing Fellow in. Trained as an aerospace engineer, he has spent the past decade working across banking, climate finance, and investing, guided by a simple question: how can capital create opportunities for people, businesses, and communities that traditional systems overlook?
Before Fuqua, Vamsi spent nearly ten years at the State Bank of India, where he worked across financial inclusion, SME banking, renewable energy finance, and loan syndications in India and New York. He helped expand savings programs for girls, launch financing initiatives for women-led enterprises, and develop renewable energy lending. These experiences shaped his belief that access to capital is only the beginning; lasting impact comes from staying engaged and helping people and institutions build the capacity to thrive over time.
At Fuqua, Vamsi co-manages the Fuqua Sustainable Impact Student Investment Fund and explores how private capital can strengthen climate resilience and expand economic opportunity in emerging markets. Most recently, he spent the summer investing with a deep-tech venture fund in India.
Outside of work and academics, he enjoys Formula 1, football, hockey, and conversations about investing, technology, and the intersection of finance, policy, and innovation.
